Our Green Journey: 2022 Recap
As 2022 comes to an end, we wanted to take some time to reflect on our green journey here at INTX. We have a long way to go and are just at the beginning of our journey but have started to make some changes and have been inspired to make even more in 2023.
Trees For Life
At the beginning of the year, we partnered with Trees for Life who are working hard to rewild the Scottish Highlands. With every hire made through INTX, we included a donation to Trees for Life and our goal was to plant 250 trees in 2022. We surpassed our goal and have planted over 500 trees in 2022. We’ve set a new goal to plant at-least 500 tress in 2023 and we can’t wait to see how our grove grows.
Good Business Festival
In March, we had the pleasure of attending the Good Business Festival where we were able to hear from inspiring panelists on how businesses can affect positive change. We especially enjoyed learning more about B Lab and the work they are doing to ensure that businesses are a force for good.
We were also inspired by like minded businesses who have the same questions as we do when it comes to sustainability and affecting change through our business. We walked alway with determination to really take a look at our business and where we would like to be in the next few years. Whilst we know know that we have a long way to go in our sustainability journey, we are determined to take the small steps necessary every day to get us there.
Green Tourism
On of the steps we have taken to review our sustainability efforts is signing up to Green Tourism’s award programme. We have achieved a bronze award so far and are working through our green action plan with a goal to achieve a higher-level award in 2023.
Better Business Act
INTX are proud to support the Better Business Act, a campaign to transform the way we do business by changing the law so that every single company in the UK, whether big or small, takes ownership of its social and environmental impact.
Hundreds of businesses have already signed up to create a cleaner, greener, fairer future for all. Together, we will ask for the government’s leadership to help deliver this new contract between business and society.
Sustainability Officer
We recently appointed a sustainability officer who will be responsible for ensuring that our sustainability initiatives are viable, successfully implemented and regularly reviewed. We are are looking forward to tackling our green action plan and showing our commitment to improving the way we do things at INTX.
As we move into 2023, we are determined to strengthen the initiatives we already have implemented as well as continue to assess where we can do better and tackle our green action plan. One of our goals is to be more transparent about our green journey and so every last Friday of the month in 2023, we will be sharing updates on our sustainability journey. Follow us on social media to keep up with our green journey!
